Tramadol There are several brand names that Tramadol is sold under, including Ryzolt, Rybix ODT, Ultram ER and Ultram. Generic Tramadol is a pain reliever that is used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. Extended-releases, generic Tramadol can be used in the case if treatment is required for twenty four hour per day. Tramadol acts similarly to morphine. The dose of Tramadol (immediate release tablets) recommended to for the treatment of pain is 50-100 mg to be taken every four-six hours. It is better to start with a smaller dose, like 25 mg. If there is a need, the dose may be increased gradually. It is better to increase the dose every three days. For the extended release tablets, the recommended dose is 100 mg per day. The maximum recommended dose of Tramadol extended release tablets is 300mg. It is better to start with minimum dose and gradually increase dose. Generally, every three days, the dose can be increased by 100 mg. The medication should be only prescribed by a health provider.
